The Ultimate Success Secret!

Just read a fabulous book by Dan Kennedy called “The Ultimate Success Secret” . The answer is quite simple and yet profound and powerful.

TAKE ACTION!

“A lobster,

when left high and dry among

the rocks,

has not instinct and energy enough

to work his way back to the sea,

but waits for the sea to

come to him.

If it does not come,

he remains where he is and dies,

although the slightest effort

would enable him to reach the waves

which are perhaps within

a yard of him.

The world is full of human

lobsters:

Men stranded on the rocks

of indecision and

procrastination,

who, instead of putting

forth their own energies,

are waiting for some

grand billow of

good fortune to set them

afloat.”

Dr. Orrison Swett Marden

Take action and do something even if it is wrong! You can fix mistakes and learn from them but you won’t get anywhere with inertia and indecision.

Feed your Mind!

You are what you are and where you are because of what has gone into your mind. You can change what you are and where you are by changing what goes into your mind. Zig Ziglar

Connections, Friends and Fairy Tales

I’ve had so many amazing connections lately with people I have met through this blog, my businesses and the community projects I am supporting and working on. Everyday I meet new people who touch my life in big and small ways. I have also recently lost a dear friend so I thought it only appropriate that I share a favorite poem. I will come back to these thoughts in another blog soon. I truly believe it is all about the people we meet the friendships we forge and the synergy that occurs. Who can you connect with today?

It seems wherever I go,
People come into my life and go out.
Touching me where I can feel,
Then leaving only a memory
Like the gossamer fairy tales of children easily forgotten.
And I wasn’t through knowing them.

How do I know
Whom I am seeing for the last time?
How do you halt your life
To gather and keep fairy tales from losing their magic?

So come.
Brush against the walls of my life
And stay long enough for us to know each other,
Even though you know we will have to part some time.
And we both know the longer you stay,
The more I will want you back when you have gone.

But come anyway.
For fairy tales are the happiest stories we know,
And great books are made of little chapters.

Just yesterday I met a gentle giant who has done missionary work all over the world and has helped more people than you can imagine weather the recent economic storm. I also found out a new friend wants to build an artisan center for children and adults in our local community. I had several other meaningful heartfelt conversations that enriched my life because I stopped and listened.

Who can you share a meaningful conversation with today? Keep your eyes open and a smile on your face. You might be amazed at what happens.

The Power of a Mentor

I have an acquaintance introduced to me by a powerful group of friends (pay attention when successful friends introduce you to their friends!). I consider her a mentor though she may or may not remember me. We spoke only on  a handful of occasions and yet I consider her a powerful presence in my life and think of her often. Much like folklore,  I am sure I have elevated her to greater  heights than may be humanely possible. Her influence has touched me, inspired me and challenged me to be much of the person I am today. I give time energy and resources to charity and to community in ways I never knew were possible.

This woman started with a well known MLM in the 70′s and grew an amzing business. She started with a small goal and a dream to improve her life and travel. She needed extra income to do that. Now, she does business in more countries than we have states. When she opens her business in each new country she requires her leaders to give 10% of their income to projects or causes in their country. In addition, she pledges 100% of hers.

She frequently says that she makes a ton of money so she can give it all away.  I too would like to be filthy stinking rich so I can give it all away! How about you?

She has been responsible for for building clinics, roads, and orphanages. Feeding hungry children and putting shoes on their feet by the thousands.

Not only that but she inspires others like me to give of themselves and their resources in a ripple effect that is immeasurable. It must be in the  millions a year and countless man  hours directed to making the world a better place.

Did your dreams, goals and aspirations just get bigger? Will anything in that get you out of bed earlier or keep you up later working on your self and your business?  Who inspires you?

What Can We Learn From Children and Bears?

Christopher Robin and Pooh Bear are especially wise.
I was reminded of this favorite quote today (Thank you Diane Kennedy!).
You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. – Christopher
Robin
I believe that about you my dear friends. Anything is possible.
Tape that quote somewhere you will see and read it often!
I’m going to remember to share that with my children from time to time as well!
I’d love to know some of your favorite quotes or inspirations. Please share them in the comments below!

Expect Success,

Christy
